Tomra - Turning waste into resources

The Esperanza Mine is a gold and copper deposit located in the district of Atico, province of Caravelí, department of Arequipa, approximately 720 kilometers south of Lima. This mine has been operating for about 9 years at a rate of 200 tons per day. Implementing TOMRA´s sorting machine has allowed to add value to the ore, to reduce operating costs in the next flotation concentration process. It has increased the mine's resources and helped to reduce the environmental problem. Learn more about this success story from Emilio Jesús Uribe Alegría, senior metallurgist at Unidad Minera Esperanza.
